Two German film students stumble upon an almost forgotten American icon and start a 15-year-long journey to dive deeply into American cultural history and identity. The ROAD TO AL JOLSON not only tells a remarkable story of FAME, but also sheds light on the sacrifices of ASSIMILATION and how it relates to today.
